Kylie was sponsored by our club as a Youth Exchange Student to Belgium in 1991, and she remembers a number of the members existing from that period.

As one of 9 children she thought that her parents would not support the idea, but due to the efforts of Rotary she was able to go.

Kylie stayed with 3 different host families in the French speaking southern part of Belgium.

It was here that she met her husband to be Sebastian.  The couple now have 2 sons and live in Adelaide. Both Kylie & Sebastian studied in France and Australia. Kylie starting in physiotherapy before switching to her current profession of ophthalmology. Sebastian started in medicine before switching to physiotherapy.

They started married life in Liege, Belgium, before moving to Champagne in France to further their studies.

Kylie told us that living in another country greatly enhanced her confidence and enabled her to grow as a person.
